Royalty Ronin with Travis Sago
Why Build It When You Can License It?
Inside Royalty Ronin, Travis Sago teaches you to collect royalties instead of chasing clients: rent assets and IP to the sellers who already have the buyers, open conversations that actually go somewhere, and run simple systems that take very little of your time.

Stop being an expense. Become a paycheck.
When you sell your time or a service, you land in someone's expense column. Expenses get compared, haggled down, and cut the first time a cheaper option calls. That's why chasing clients so often feels like begging.
Travis teaches the other side of the ledger. Find the lists, offers, and know-how a business already has but isn't using, and turn them into found money they never would have made without you.
As Travis puts it, it's brutal trying to get a crumb of a pie someone is already eating. It's easy to get a big slice of a brand-new pie you bake for them.
The Ronin shift
- From expense to paycheck
- From "pick me" to the buyer who does the choosing
- From building products to licensing what already exists
- From chasing clients to partnering with sellers who already have buyers
- From big contracts to small first dates
- From guessing your price to letting buyers tell you
The Royalty Ronin idea
Rent one house to a thousand people at once
Flip a house and you get paid once, then you go hunting for the next one. Rent it out and you get steady cash flow, along with the toilets, tenants, and termites. And one house only holds one family.
Intellectual property doesn't have that limit. You get access to it once, and you can rent the same asset to many sellers at the same time. No inventory. No tenants calling at midnight.
That's why they're called Royalty Ronin. You're renting, not selling.
Think Margaritaville
Jimmy Buffett didn't sell flip-flops. He rented his Margaritaville name to the companies that did.
Every pair sold paid him, and he never stocked a shelf or rang up a customer.
Ronin rent IP to sellers: the businesses that already have the buyers.
What you'll learn
What Travis teaches inside Ronin
Licensing assets and IP
How to package what you already do, or what someone else already owns, into IP you license out. Your partners push the buttons, so you stop trading hours for every result.
Speaking your partner's language
Business owners don't care about licensing or IP. They lie awake over cash flow and new customers. Travis shows you how to talk about what they actually want, so doors open instead of closing.
Sales and marketing
How to write and reply to emails and DMs in a way that moves buyers to a yes, and how to put the truth on the table when a deal needs to change.
Running auctions
How to run an auction for products and services so buyers tell you exactly what they're willing to spend.
First dates and simple systems
Start every deal with a small, risk-free first date, like three emails to a partner's list. You handle the work, they risk nothing. When it works, copy it, hand it off, and grow it without adding hours.
Partner, not order-taker
Serve No Master. Why retainers put you on opposite sides of the table, and how to set up partnerships where you both win as the pie grows.
How a Ronin deal comes together
Four steps from stranger to partner
To you, it's licensing. To your partner, it's simple: you bring them new customers with no risk and no money up front, and they pay you a share after the customer pays them. Travis calls this the new customer broker frame, because new customers are what business owners think about all day.
Step 1
Choose your partner
Research first. Look for a business with a clearly different concept, more than one product, a steady flow of leads, and a few years behind it. You're the one doing the choosing.
Step 2
Open a conversation
Read their book or watch their videos, then reach out the way you'd talk to someone at a backyard barbecue. A real compliment, a real question, no pitch.
Step 3
Have a coffee date
No script needed. Get curious about how they find new customers now and what it costs them in time, money, and energy. Sort and sift. Don't sell.
Step 4
Agree on a first date
Offer a small, risk-free test, like three emails to their list. You cover the work, they risk nothing, and you both find out fast whether the idea has legs.
The Ronin auction
What if your buyers told you exactly what they'd spend?
Most people pick a price, cross their fingers, and hope. Travis teaches a different move.
You run an auction for a product or service. Interested buyers step forward and tell you, in their own words, how much they're willing to spend with you. No guessing. No talking yourself down before anyone has even answered.
It works for all kinds of products and services, and it's one of the most powerful things taught inside Ronin.
Why I'm sharing this
How one small "first date" changed the way I work
I'm Ben Newcomb. I've spent 18 years in marketing and managed around $19 million in ad spend. I'd followed Travis for a couple of years when one of his ideas stuck with me: sell to sellers.
Not long after, I popped into a local chamber of commerce event on a whim and met the owner of an SEO and web design agency. His clients needed Google Ads, and the company running them wasn't doing a good job. I run ads. He already needed me before we ever talked.
I didn't pitch him a retainer. I could hear Travis in my head: just do a first date. So we started with one test client, a local dentist. I rebuilt the account, cut the cost per lead, and pointed the ads at the cases the practice actually wanted.
The next week he sent me three more. Since then he's sent more than 50 accounts, mostly chiropractors around the country. I've never had a sales call with any of them. He handles the selling and the customer service, I do the ad work, and I'm training an assistant so I can do even less of it.
Travis featured my story on his channel. That's the kind of leverage he teaches, and it's why I point people to Ronin.
